On Mumbai City's preparations
Mumbai City are fully boosted after a positive outcome in the AFC Champions League. Head coach Des Buckingham recently said in an interaction that his squad is fully focused on the Durand Cup 2022. The club has signed three new foreigners this season, out of which one is a newcomer to the country - Rostyn Griffiths.
The club has managed their transfer activity pretty well by signing Greg Stewart from Jamshedpur FC. Stewart scored 10 goals for the Men of Steel in the previous edition. Even Alberto Noguera, who didn't enjoy a spectacular season at FC Goa can be assumed to be an excellent recruit. The most recent addition however, was that of Jorge Pereyra Diaz who scored eight goals for Kerala Blasters in the Indian Super League 2021/22. Undoubtedly, the think tank is looking forward to the Durand Cup as an event to assemble the squad to the extreme.
Mumbai City will be playing their first Durand Cup fixture against Indian Navy on 18th August.
