The apex body has adopted a very interesting creative strategy for this edition’s anthem.

There is no greater celebration in football than the World Cup. World Cups bring the world to a halt. We are only a few months away from the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar. And there has been a great deal of excitement leading up to the tournament. In comparison to previous World Cups, this year’s build-up has been very different.

BTS, Lil Baby, and other iconic artists will perform during the opening ceremony, which definitely adds to the excitement. Lastly, when it comes to the World Cup’s excitement, official songs are the pulse of the tournament. For this year’s World Cup, FIFA is trying something new that it hasn’t tried before.

Is there any official song for the World Cup 2022?

The official anthem or song is the heartbeat of any mega event. It sets the vibe for the tournament. Particularly in football, where fans are more emotionally invested in their team. Historically, World Cup anthems and songs have put the whole world on fire.

Classic cults like Waka Waka, Wavin’ Flag from the 2010 World Cup and La La La from the 2014 edition still dominate fans’ playlists. However, for this year’s official song, FIFA will release a soundtrack featuring a multi-song collection with many international stars to keep all fans around the world more engaged with their local stars.

What is the official song of the World Cup 2022?

FIFA has adopted a different creative strategy for the 2022 World Cup. So far, the unveiling of the emblem and the mascot has been really successful. There will be multiple songs released for the World Cup – a big gamble by FIFA.

Earlier this year, FIFA’s Commercial Officer Kay Madati said “As part of FIFA’s revamped music strategy, the multi-song soundtrack will bring passionate fans closer to the spirit of the FIFA World Cup like never before.”

So far, FIFA has released one track from the 2022 World Cup’s soundtrack, ‘Hayya Hayya’ by Trinidad Cardona, Davido and Aisha. The music video was released on 1st April 2022 and has around 19 million views with 610k likes on YouTube.

Lil Bay also has released one more official song for the World Cup, named ‘The World is Yours to Take’.

What is the meaning of the first official song ‘Hayya Hayya‘?

Trinidad Cardona, the American R&B singer, Davido, the Nigerian artist, and Qatari artist Aisha have sung the ‘Hayya Hayya’ song. This song’s title translates to ‘Better Together’ in English. Its lyrics reflect the idea of bringing fans together to enjoy one of the biggest sporting events in the world.

Kay Madati also spoke on the real meaning of this song and said, “By bringing together voices from the Americas, Africa and the Middle East, this song symbolizes how music – and football – can unite the world.”
