Earlier this year, FIFA's Commercial Officer Kay Madati said “As part of FIFA’s revamped music strategy, the multi-song soundtrack will bring passionate fans closer to the spirit of the FIFA World Cup like never before.”
So far, FIFA has released one track from the 2022 World Cup's soundtrack, 'Hayya Hayya' by Trinidad Cardona, Davido and Aisha. The music video was released on 1st April 2022 and has around 19 million views with 610k likes on YouTube.
Lil Bay also has released one more official song for the World Cup, named 'The World is Yours to Take'.
What is the meaning of the first official song 'Hayya Hayya'?
Trinidad Cardona, the American R&B singer, Davido, the Nigerian artist, and Qatari artist Aisha have sung the 'Hayya Hayya' song. This song's title translates to 'Better Together' in English. Its lyrics reflect the idea of bringing fans together to enjoy one of the biggest sporting events in the world.
Kay Madati also spoke on the real meaning of this song and said, “By bringing together voices from the Americas, Africa and the Middle East, this song symbolizes how music – and football – can unite the world."
