The FIFA World Cup 2026 quarter-final stage will end on July 11.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 quarter-final phase is nearing its conclusion, with three teams having booked their places in the semi-finals of the expanded 48-team edition in North America. England became the latest team to seal a place in the last four with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Norway at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, on Saturday.

Norway took the lead in the 36th minute after a wonder strike from Andreas Schjelderup, who beat Jordan Pickford with a cross-turned-shot from the edge of the penalty area. However, Jude Bellingham equalised in first-half stoppage time with a fine finish.

Torbjorn Heggem found the back of the net in the second half but had the goal overturned by VAR for a foul on Elliot Anderson. The match went to extra time, and Bellingham found the back of the net again in the 93rd minute.

The Three Lions had a penalty call overturned by VAR in extra time, but Bellingham’s brace was enough for them to seal a hard-fought win and book a place in the semi-finals. They will face either Argentina or Switzerland in the last four.
