Leicester City: Five players who can help The Foxes mount a title challenge
The Brendan Rodgers managed side has impressed fans and pundits alike with their consistent performances in the 2019-20 season.
Leicester City won the hearts of fans around the world in 2015, when they defied all odds to lift the Premier League title. The Foxes, since their return to the top flight have made a habit of buying low and selling high, with the likes of Harry Maguire, Riyad Mahrez and N’Golo Kante all leaving the King Power Stadium on big money moves.
Under Brendan Rodgers, Leicester City have begun to look more like a threat to the traditional top six sides this season, with the likes of James Maddison, Jamie Vardy and Ben Chilwell displaying impressive performances over the course of the campaign.
The club have prided themselves in recent years of being able to replace their stars fairly well, and will have to do so this summer if they are to mount a serious title challenge in the 2020/2021 campaign. Here are the top five players who can help Leicester City to challenge for the top spot next season.
5. Abdulkadir Parmak
The Foxes have been linked in recent days to Turkish midfielder, Abdulkadir Parmak who plays at Trabzonspor. The 25-year-old has played 43 games for the six time Turkish League champions and is also a Turkey international.
While Parmak may not be the biggest name on this list, he would certainly provide the means to bolster the Leicester City squad that has suffered terrible drop-offs in form when their biggest stars are injured.
4. Jamal Lewis
Ben Chilwell, Leicester’s first choice left back has been the target of an enormous amount of transfer talk, over the past 18 months, with the likes if Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United reportedly interested in the Englishman’s services.
Should Chilwell depart the King Power Stadium, the Foxes could do well by bringing in Jamal Lewis, whose Norwich City side will be playing in the Championship next season. At 22, Lewis would be just the kind of signing that Rodgers will be looking for to build into the future.
3. Nicolás Tagliafico
The Argentine left back was a constant in the Ajax side that defeated Real Madrid to reach the Champions League semi-final in 2019. Tagliafico has been touted as a potential alternative for Chelsea, should they fail to land the services of Ben Chilwell in the summer.
However, should Chilwell leave the King power stadium, Tagliafico, at 27, would represent the kind of ready made quality that would allow Leicester City to challenge for the top spot next season.

2. Luka Jovic
Brendan Rodgers has confirmed in recent weeks that he will be looking to bolster his attacking options going into next season. Jamie Vardy has been on fire for the Foxes but the rest of the side leave a lot to be desired in the goalscoring department. Luka Jovic has suffered a less than ideal start to his life at Real Madrid after his big money move to the Spanish capital.
Rodger’s side has been linked to the Serbian striker who would go some way to relieving Vardy of his goalscoring responsibilities. While it remains highly unlikely that Madrid would let Jovic go on a permanent deal after just one season, the Serb would be a brilliant addition to the Leicester squad.

1. Adam Lallana
With Jurgen Klopp seemingly confirming that Adam Lallana had in fact played his last game for Liverpool against Chelsea, the door is open for Leicester City to bring in a seasoned attacker who would add undeniable quality to the ranks of Leicester City.
The Champions League and Premier League winner would look at Leicester City as a potential chance to play in Europe again and would relish the chance of being the main man at a club after being shunned to the sidelines by the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane at Liverpool.
