Upamecano & Saliba - France injury news ahead of FIFA World Cup 2026 semi-final vs Spain

France defeated Morocco 2-0 to secure a berth in the semi-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Didier Deschampsā men look scary as they gear up to face European champions Spain in their semifinal clash after the French defeated Belgium 2-1 in the 1/4 finals.
Les Bleus have scored the most goals in the ongoing FIFA World Cup, 16, while conceding only two. Mike Miagnan has kept four clean sheets in six appearances for the two-time champions. Meanwhile, the sideās attacking has been their strength too.
Captain Kylian Mbappe has bagged eight goals and has provided three assists in the tournament. Meanwhile, Michael Olise has provided five assists. Ousmane Dembele has also recorded five goals and two assists, while Bradley Barcola and Desire Doue have also been prolific.
However, the two-time champions currently have injury woes hanging over their heads as they prepare to face La Roja in their next game.
France injury update ahead of FIFA World Cup semifinal clash against Spain?
Kylian Mbappe: The Real Madrid attacker was subbed off in the second half by Didier Deschamps against Morocco, and later was seen using an ice pack on his ankle. The official update about the severity of Mbappeās injury is yet to be revealed.
Kouadio Kone: The 25-year-old was also subbed off during Les Bleusās quarterfinal clash against Morocco. Kouadio Kone complained about discomfort, and according to reports, his return is currently doubtful.
Aurelien Tchouameni: The former Monaco midfielder is unlikely to return to the ongoing campaign; however, he would be looking forward to making a timely recovery. Heās currently on the sidelines due to a groin injury.
Dayot Upamecano: The Bayern Munich defender is reportedly suffering from foot pain. However, that is unlikely to keep Dayot Upamecano out of the sideās starting XI against Spain. However, he was absent from Franceās training ahead of the World Cup semi-final.
William Salliba: Another player missing from Les Bleusās training ahead of the World Cup semi-final, Arsenal defender William Salliba has suffered from back issues throughout the campaign. Due to the issue, he had already missed several sessions, as the two-time champions sought to keep him fit for matchdays.
