Les Bleus are one of the favourites to lift the World Cup title this year.

France take on Spain in an exciting FIFA World Cup 2026 semi-final clash at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on July 14. Les Bleus have been absolutely flawless in this year’s expanded 48-team World Cup in North America, winning all six of their games so far.

The two-time world champions topped Group I with wins over Senegal (3-1), Iraq (3-0) and Norway (4-1), while Kylian Mbappe led the goalscoring charts for his nation. Les Bleus then beat Sweden 3-0 in the Round of 32, with Mbappe netting a brace.

The Real Madrid forward then scored from the spot to beat Paraguay 1-0 in the Round of 16 before finding the back of the net again in a 2-0 win over Morocco in the quarter-finals. The forward now leads the Golden Boot race with eight goals.

Mike Maignan has conceded just two goals in the entire tournament, and the AC Milan custodian will continue between the sticks for his nation in the semi-final.

Dayot Upamecano has not played 90 minutes in a single game for his nation (76 minutes against Norway), and the Bayern Munich defender will start in the heart of defence alongside William Saliba. Jules Kounde is the established right-back, and Lucas Digne will likely be preferred over Theo Hernandez at left-back.

Although Aurelien Tchouameni has recovered from the injury that kept him out of the squad in the last couple of games, Didier Deschamps will likely stick with Manu Kone in midfield along with Adrien Rabiot.

Michael Olise leads the assists charts in the tournament by setting up five goals, and the England-born midfielder is expected to start in an advanced role, just behind the talismanic forward Kylian Mbappe.

Current Ballon d’Or holder Ousmane Dembele is a fixture on the right flank and can expect to start his seventh straight match in the tournament. On the left, Desire Doue is the likely choice for Deschamps, although Bradley Barcola remains an option.
