Les Blues will take on La Roja for a spot in the FIFA World Cup 2026 final.
Didier Deschamps’ French side has been an impenetrable machine in the FIFA World Cup 2026. They completely dominated the AFCON champions, Morocco, in the quarter-finals and won the game 2-0. They will lock horns against La Roja, who beat the Red Devils by 2-1. This will be the second semi-final for Spain in World Cup history.
Both sides are unbeaten in the competition so far and have played great football. This will be a very tight, intense and competitive fixture, as both teams will be ready to give their all on the pitch. These two teams are favourites to win this edition’s World Cup, but after this game, only one side will book their slot in the final.
In the last few fixtures, Spain has had good results against France, and they will be confident of getting another great result against the mighty French team. Kylian Mbappe’s France team has the best attack in the competition so far, and Spain’s defence has also been the best. So this semi-final clash will be between the team with the best attack and the best defence.
The stakes are very high, and this game might go to extra time and even to penalties as well. This will be a mouthwatering clash for sure.

Players to Watch
Kylian Mbappe (France)

He is the joint top scorer in the FIFA World Cup alongside Lionel Messi with eight goals. He will soon become the player with the most goals scored in FIFA World Cup history. Physically, he is in great shape, and as a captain, he is leading his team with full confidence. His partnership with Olise and Dembele has been the strongest in the World Cup so far. If he continues to perform like this, France can overcome the challenge of Spain in the Semi-final.
Dani Olmo (Spain)

Olmo has been a key part of De La Fuente’s tactics so far in the World Cup. Olmo can string some really creative passes and can break down defences really easily. His partnership with Yamal is really great. The way he links up with Oyarzabal in the final third and creates space for himself and his teammates is brilliant. He game intelligence is really high and the way he does quick plays makes things even more difficult for opposition defenders.

Injury and Team News
France have a few injury concerns ahead of the semi-final. Kylian Mbappé is expected to be fit after returning to training following an ankle scare, but Aurélien Tchouaméni remains doubtful with a groin injury.
Meanwhile, Dayot Upamecano (foot) and William Saliba (back) both missed the latest training session, although Upamecano is still expected to be available.
Spain have largely avoided fresh injury setbacks ahead of the clash. Nico Williams has recovered from his earlier adductor problem and is available, while Aymeric Laporte is fit despite carrying a knock earlier in the tournament.
Yeremy Pino remains a minor doubt, but Luis de la Fuente is otherwise expected to have a near full-strength squad at his disposal.

Both sides are favourites to win this competition, but now only one side can make it into the final.
