Giovani Lo Celso now has a goal in the FIFA World Cup.

Defending champions Argentina have been one of the favourites to win the FIFA World Cup 2026 since the start. For the first time, the tournament featured 48 teams. As a result, the teams that reach the semi-finals will have to play eight games; La Albiceleste are one of them.

However, midfielder Giovani Lo Celso has also been a key player for Lionel Scaloni’s side. The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder has been on the bench for the majority of the campaign. The only game he played was against Jordan, where he played on the left wing and scored his only World Cup goal.

After winning a free kick following Abu Taha’s challenge, Giovani Lo Celso took a free kick from 20 yards with his left foot. He netted the ball on the right side of the goal. He gave La Albiceleste a 1-0 lead over Jordan.
