Suraj Hadkonkar scored a hat-trick for the Golden Eagles on Sunday afternoon against Guardian Angel SC.

Dempo SC closed the gap  on Goa Professional Leader Sporting Clube de Goa to three points after registering a commanding 4-1 win against Guardian Angel Sports Club at Ella ground, on Sunday.

Dempo SC move on to 34 points from 18 matches having played a game more than the leaders Sporting Clube de Goa while Guardian Angel SC stay on 20 points from 18 matches.

Suraj Hadkonkar was the highlight of the evening scoring a fine hat-trick coming on as a substitute. The youngster has scored seven goals in the league coming on as a substitute including his four in the last two games.

Dempo SC trailed in the game as Aslon Oliveira had put Guardian Angel SC ahead in the game with a half hour strike. However Dempo SC managed to restore parity just before the breather through Suraj Hadkonkar.

Changing ends, Suraj showed his class and scored the second with his trademark freekick in the 56th minute. The youngster soon completed his hat-trick at the hour mark and set up Joaquim Abranches in the 62nd minute as the full time score read 4-1.

Meanwhile in another match at Duler Stadium, Panjim Footballers scored a solitary goal to win over Sesa Football Academy.

Panjim Footballers move on equal points with Salgaocar FC with 26 points from 17 matches while Sesa continue to remain 11th with 15 points from 15 matches.

Chandan Gawas scored the match-winner in the first half injury time.
