It was a tight game with the odd goal deciding the winner.
Guardian Angel SC scored a narrow 2-1 win over Corps of Signals in the Goa Professional League match played at Rosary Ground, Navelim, on Friday. Guardian Angel scored early in the game when Bamba Musah had a shot at goal which was saved by Signals keeper Binu, however, the ball fell into Agnelo Colaco’s path and the latter graced with a simple shot to put his side ahead in the game. Down by a goal in the sixth minute, Signals looked even more confused in their game plan as they struggled to maintain possession. Corps of Signals played tough in the midfield and pressed Guardian Angel team giving them little room to rotate the ball in the midfield. Corps of Signals had series of corner kicks but Amit Singh headed wide. Off a quick counter, Guardian Angel should have taken a lead when a well build up play involving Bamba Musah and Aslon saw them break in the rival half with ease but Aslon’s accurate cross to Kimron, bounced in between his legs and went out for a goal kick. Signals at the other end played a sloppy play with miss passes and lost possession quiet easily and almost conceded their second but Guardian Angel’s Musah fumbled in the box with just the keeper at his sight. Guardian Angel should have scored their second but once again Musah failed to make the best of the one-on-one chance as he shot straight to the keeper. Guardian Angel had series of chances with Agnelo Colaco also trying his luck from distance but his shot was well blocked by Corps of Signals keeper Binu.
