Vasco Sports Club, Panjim Footballers play out goalless draw in GPL

Both teams failed to get lucky in front of goal.
Vasco Sports Club and Panjim Footballers played out a drab draw in the Goa Pro League at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Monday.
The match started with Vasco attacking from the word go but their final approach failed as they couldn’t do much in front. At the other end, Panjim Footballers managed to recover in the game and managed to create chances but couldn’t do much damage.
Later, Vasco bagged a free kick outside the box, which Sanwil D’Costa saw his effort hit the cross bar and go for a goalkick. That was the closest the Port Towners came to scoring.
Cavin Lobo made a fine run from the midway dribbling past couple of Panjim defence but just before he could find Beevan, Panjim’s Dhiraj Chauvan intercepted.
Second half was more of Panjim’s game as they maintained shape and possession but Vasco’s Kuldeep and Sanwil ensured
At the hour mark, Cavin Lobo set up Francisco from outside the box, but the latter shot wide. Later Sanwil saw his another effort go wide from a free kick.
In the last quarter of the game, Pidroy Carvalho sent in a cross in the area where Beevan, who passed it to Savlon Fernandes inside the box, the lad shot wide with just the keeper at his mercy.
Panjim didn’t have much say in the second half and were lucky to walk away with a point from the game.
In seven games, Vasco Sports Club are on 13 points and Panjim Footballers managed to grab their second draw in the competition.
