The tactician has prior experience of working as a coach at the Barca Academy in Spain.

Rajasthan United may be I-League debutants in the 2021-22 season. Regardless, they are prepared to give a tough fight to all the other participants in the league. The club confirmed the appointment of Francesc Bonet as their new head coach on Thursday.

28-year-old Bonet is the youngest coach in the I-League this season, and is also one of the youngest coaches of all time in the league's history. He began his career as a 20-year-old, when he started working with Catalan outfit FC Martinenc. Stints at CE L'Hospitalet, UD Park and CF Almogavers followed, before he took up a coaching role at the renowned Barca Academy- owned and operated by LaLiga giants FC Barcelona in Spain.

Bonet holds the UEFA Pro License, the highest coaching certification available in Europe. Additionally, he was also the technical director at CF Almogavers for a brief period of time.

As mentioned above, 28 seems to be a fairly young age for the football coach of a top-division league in the country. However, Rajasthan United co-founder and Director Kamal Singh Saroha expressed full confidence in the tactician's abilities. "We also have a team that comprises of several youngsters. We trust them to do well and we have trust in coach Francesc Bonet," he told Khel Now on Friday.
