The goalkeeper played for four ISL sides in his career.

Former NorthEast United goalkeeper Sanjiban Ghosh has signed for Real Kashmir, Khel Now can confirm. A source close to the development informed Khel Now, “Sanjiban Ghosh has signed a one-year deal with Real Kashmir.”

The goalkeeper had been part of the Indian Super League for quite some time. He is going back to the I-League due to more game time, understands Khel Now.

About the player

Sanjiban Ghosh started his career with I-League side Mumbai FC. During his stay at the club, he moved out on loan to the Indian Super League during the ISL period. The 31-year-old played for Delhi Dynamos for two seasons (2015 and 2016). In 2017, after the inception of Jamshedpur FC, the goalkeeper made a permanent move to the club. His heroics in the Super Cup helped Jamshedpur reach the last eight of the competition. However, after the season, Ghosh shifted base to Chennaiyin FC. He went on to spend two seasons at the Marina Machans.

In 2020, prior to the start of the ISL, Sanjiban Ghosh joined NorthEast United FC. However, the keeper failed to make any appearances for the club. Thus, a decision to sign for I-League side Real Kashmir seems justifiable.

Real Kashmir’s last season

The I-League 2021/22 expedition is something which Real Kashmir will try to forget. The club ended their campaign on the 12th position. Just a two-point difference with Kenkre FC helped the Kashmir-based outfit to avoid relegation.

With a sheer intent of revamping the squad and gaining a better position in the league, the management has decided to bring in some top-notch signings. Sanjiban Ghosh is one of them. A few days back however, midfielder Surchandra Singh, who scored two goals for the club last season, penned a deal with fellow I-League outfit Rajasthan United.
