Gokulum Kerala in 2021-22
It has been a brilliant season for the Malabarians. They successfully defended their I-League title, beating Mohammedan SC in their final league game to become the first-ever side to retain the I-League trophy. En route to winning the second division, Gokulam Kerala lost just one game all season. Luka Majcen was their star player with 13 goals and seven assists, the most by any GKFC player this season.
Vincenzo Alberto Annese's side have also started their AFC Cup campaign on a high with a thrashing 4-2 win over Indian Super League side ATK Mohun Bagan in the tournament opener. However, they lost their second match against Maziya S&RC leaving the Malabarians second in Group D.
Gokulam Kerala were completely outplayed by the Maldivian champions and failed to exert the same dominance they enjoyed against ATKMB. They face Bangladesh side Bashundhara Kings in their final group stage game.
