East Bengal FC vs Al-Seeb Preview - Lineups, Team News | AFC Champions League Two 2026-27

The Torchbearers will travel to Oman for their next ACL 2 fixture.

East Bengal FC are hoping to get their first win of the 2026-27 AFC Champions League Two campaign when they travel to face Al-Seeb at the Al-Seeb Stadium on Tuesday, 27 October (2026).

The Torchbearers will be facing an Al-Seeb side that hasn’t picked up any points from the group stages so far, and will be looking to maintain their positive moment to get maximum points from their travels to Oman.

In their last AFC Champions League 2 match, East Bengal FC blew a 2-1 lead at home to Al-Shorta. The Torchbearers conceded twice in the second half, despite David Lalhlansanga scoring a first half brace. Al-Shorta scored in the 50th & 52nd minute of the game to defeat East Bengal 2-3 at the Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata.

On the other hand, Al-Seeb have faced results worse than that of East Bengal FC. The Oman club lost their previous game to Al-Hussein 0-3 at home. Al-Seeb have lost both of their AFC Champions League Two matches so far.

The Stakes

Al-Seeb Club

East Bengal FC vs Al-Seeb Preview - Lineups, Team News | AFC Champions League Two 2026-27
Al-Seeb are yet to score a point in the 2026-27 AFC Champions League Two so far.

Al-Seeb have had a pretty poor start to their 2026-27 AFC Champions League Two, having suffered defeats in both their opening matches so far. They’re now far behind the top-two places in the group and need to mark a bit of a stunning turnaround in their remaining fixtures to be able to have a chance of making it to the knockout stages.

The Oman giants will need to be way more prolific against East Bengal as compared to what they’ve been like in the last few matches in the continental competition. They also need to hold together a sturdier defensive shape to keep the visitors at bay and lower their goal threat.

A win for Al-Seeb will be a much-needed morale-booster for the players, but another loss or even a draw at home could further deplete their confidence levels.

East Bengal FC

East Bengal FC are yet to win a game in their 2026-27 AFC Champions League Two campaign.

East Bengal suffered a frustrating loss in their recent clash at the AFC Champions League Two clash, but they have picked up momentum since. After a thrilling start to their 2026-27 Indian Super League (ISL) campaign, the Red & Gold Brigade will look to try and get their first win in the continental competition against Al-Seeb.

Antonio Habas needs his players to maintain their element of surprise in these matches, nailing their transitions and swift movement chances to trouble the Al-Seeb defenders. They will, of course, focus on keeping a compact defensive shape, but this game is one where East Bengal will look to play on the front foot, create many major chances and score goals.

A win on the road for East Bengal will do wonders to further improve their confidence levels, but another loss or draw can cause frustrations to creep up.

Team News

Al-Seeb are expected to have a fully fit squad at their disposal for this upcoming clash.

Naorem Mahesh Singh remains the major absentee in the East Bengal squad, while Mohamad Rakip is also recovering from an injury.

Head-to-Head Record

This will be the first time that Al-Seeb and East Bengal face each other in international competitions.

East Bengal (4-2-3-1)

Prabhsukhan Gill (GK), Hardik Bhatt, Anwar Ali, David Zivulic, Jay Gupta, Jeakson Singh, Mohammed Rashid, Bipin Singh, Dani Ramirez, Edmund Lalrindika, David Lalhlansanga

Players to Watchout

Ali Al Busaidi (Al-Seeb)

East Bengal FC vs Al-Seeb Preview - Lineups, Team News | AFC Champions League Two 2026-27
Ali Al Busaidi has made over 90 appearances for the Oman National Team.

Ali Al Busaidi has been one of the few positives for Al-Seeb in their 2026-27 AFC Champions League Two matches so far. He’s produced some admirable performances, being a thorn in the wide areas with his clever running ability and tendency to create.

The 35-year-old created six goal chances for Al-Seeb in their recent loss to Al-Hussein SC and will look to keep up that kind of momentum against East Bengal. Al Busaidi will be determined to make clever runs down the wide areas, stretching the opposition backline and cause their defenders to lose their sense of positioning.

He’ll look to keep creating chances with his crossing ability and tendency to find the right passes, and Al Busaidi will also aim to get into more goal-scoring areas to enhance his side’s goal threat.

David Lalhlansanga (East Bengal)

East Bengal FC vs Al-Seeb Preview - Lineups, Team News | AFC Champions League Two 2026-27
David Lahlansanga scored a brace for East Bengal in their 2-3 loss to Al-Shorta.

David Lalhlansanga proved just how impactful he can be in the AFC Champions League Two matches for East Bengal in their thrilling game against Al-Shorta recently. The Indian forward displayed an excellent positional sense and ability to covert clinically with a brace against AL-Shorta and he’ll look to keep that promising form going against Al-Seeb as well.

Lalhlansanga needs to continue looking to position himself in the danger areas and try to get behind the defenders to latch onto possession in key goal-scoring areas. He’ll look to be proactive with his movement and dupe defenders with his off-the-ball runs as well.

However, the most important thing that David needs to focus on is finishing off chances as clinically as he did in the last game to enable East Bengal to get a potentially big win.
