The Stakes
East Bengal

To their credit, East Bengal have showcased admirable grit in their 2026-27 AFC Champions League Two matches so far. The Torchbearers have only suffered one loss, but the two draws have left a bitter aftertaste because of the major chances that they had to win it.
Antonio Habas will definitely demand more ruthlessness from his players in their remaining ACL Two matches if they are to get past the group stages.
East Bengal will, of course, have to push hard to win duels and be defensively solid against Al-Seeb. However, a bigger priority for them is to be innovative in the attack and finish off chances clinically to outwit the opposition players.
A win for East Bengal will give a major boost for their hopes of securing a top-two place in their group, but dropping points again can see their knockout hopes badly damaged.
Al-Seeb

Al-Seeb have pretty much underperformed in the 2026-27 AFC Champions League Two group stages so far, only managing one point from three games and scoring zero goals. They need a remarkable turnaround in their fortunes to have any chance of making it past the group stages this time around.
The Oman side will need to be defensively as solid as they were in the last game to frustrate East Bengal at their own yard and keep their threat neutralised.
However, the bigger priority for Al-Seeb will be to improve their work in the final third. They have to be much more creative in delivering quality passes into the danger zones and for their players to finish them off cleverly too.
A possible win for Al-Seeb will be a huge momentum booster for them, but another loss would basically end their hopes of making it into the next rounds.
Team News
Naorem Mahesh Singh and Mohamed Rakip are the major injury absentees for East Bengal.
Al-Seeb should have the same squad that was available in their previous clash against the Indian heavyweights.

Players to Watch Out For
Edmund Lalrindika (East Bengal)

Edmund Lalrindika has had a frustrating 2026-27 AFC Champions League Two campaign for East Bengal so far, despite starting every single one of their three matches so far. He did, however, have a few bright moments in the recent draw against Al-Seeb โ coming close to scoring a few times.
The India international has to significantly improve his goal-scoring threat for East Bengal in such matches if heโs to prove himself to be good enough for the international level. Lalrindika has to be smarter with his positioning and anticipation in terms of getting at the end of chances.
Moreover, he also needs to add more efficiency to his finishing and nail his shots properly to test the goalkeeper and cause a real problem for Al-Seeb in the upcoming clash.
Axel Meye (Al-Seeb)

Axel Meye is yet to really shine through for Al-Seeb after joining them in the 2026 summer transfer window. The 31-year-old has a decent amount of experience behind him, having played for clubs like Paris FC and Raja Casablanca across his career, and heโs looking to prove himself for the Oman club now.
Meye has to be way more proactive in the attack against East Bengal at the Salt Lake Stadium as compared to what he did in the last game.
He needs to be smarter with his off-the-ball movement to be able to disrupt the opponentsโ centre-back partnership and get free space for himself in the final third. Meye, however, really needs to add more lethality to his final product in terms of his accuracy for shooting and setting up chances to be able to elevate Al-Seebโs chances of getting a big win over East Bengal.
