AFC Challenge League 2026-27: Updated points table, top goal scorers after FC Goa vs FC Regar-TadAZ
FC Goa lose their 2026-27 AFC Challenge League opener to Regar-TadAZ.
FC Goa succumbed to a 2-1 loss against the three-time AFC Challenge League winners, FC Regar-TadAZ, on the 17th of October, 2026, at the Mohammed Al-Hamad Stadium in Hawally, Kuwait, in their opening game of the AFC Challenge League 2026-27.
An early 8th-minute goal provided FC Goa with the advantage, following which they tended to play a more defensive game, maintaining a high-line defence, coupled with a few counterattacks, predominantly through the wings.
Chiki and Ortiz made some quick transitions, with Muhammed Nemil being one of the anchors on the left side of the pitch. In the second half, however, the 3 time Challenge League champions stepped in with an increased intent and desperation to find the back of the net. But despite most of their attempts, the Goan backline did relatively well to keep their lead.
In the 85th minute, FC Regar-TadAZ finally found their opener, courtesy of Fairdun Davlatov, who took a shot from outside the box to net the equaliser. Just minutes later, Fairdun Davlatov yet again came to the hosts’ rescue, heading the ball past Lara Sharma, providing his side with the late advantage and marking the nail in the coffin.
At full-time, FC Regar-TadAZ snatched a late 2-1 victory against the Gaurs and bagged all three points at home. Here is the updated Group C points table after the FC Regar-TadAZ vs FC Goa game in the AFC Challenge League.
