AFC Challenge League Quarterfinals: When & where to watch FK Arkadag vs East Bengal FC?

It’s a win or go home situation for East Bengal FC as they look to overturn a 1-0 deficit in Arkadag.

Indian Super League (ISL) club East Bengal FC are looking to book their place in the 2024-25 AFC Challenge League semi-finals when they visit Turkmenistan champions FK Arkadag at the Arkadag Stadium on Wednesday (March 12). The match will be available for live-streaming for fans in India.

The Red & Gold Brigade will be desperate to win when they take on the Ýokary Liga champions in a crucial second leg. However, things can get worse before they get better for Oscar Bruzon’s men, as they trail the home side by only one goal. The Spaniard must motivate his side to produce a clinical performance, as they will have to nullify the damage from the first leg.

After winning the 2024 Super Cup title, they will be keen to excel in Asia and determined to spring a surprise result in Turkmenistan.

After a long time, the Red & Gold Brigade will be keen to make a mark in continental competition but will be heavily against it when they face Turkmenistan’s best. Fortunately for coach Bruzon, his team will not have a demanding home crowd, and he will expect his players to play freely in enemy territory.

FK Arkadag was only formed in 2023 but has had an impressive rise in Turkmenistan football, winning back-to-back Ýokary Liga championships. The Turkmenistan side has some dangerous players and has had a similar run as the Torchbearers to the quarter-final stage. They have continued the same form as they recorded an impressive 1-0 win over the Torchbearers.

East Bengal FC has lacked consistency and goals this season. However, the forwards have found the net in the tournament’s group stages. Bruzon will once again bank on star striker Dimitrios Diamantakos, who has scored four of the nine goals in the competition. While Diamantakos was not able to be effective against FK Arkadag, he will be keen to put things right away from home.

FK Arkadag’s danger man will be Didar Durdyyev, who can create or score crucial goals in the big moments. Durdyyev had a pretty good outing in the first leg, setting up Ýazgylyç Gurbanow for the crucial first-leg lead in the 10th minute. He has shown versatility in slotting in easily in both broad areas and being the creative force in midfield for the home side.
