Al-Seeb vs East Bengal Player Ratings: Lachenpa & Živulić shine, Edmund, David disappoint in AFC Champions League Two 2026-27 clash
East Bengal settle for a goalless draw against Al-Seeb in Oman.
East Bengal FC shares spoils in a dull draw with Al-Seeb in the AFC Champions League Two 2026-27 matchday three in Group D in Oman.
The result earned Al-Seeb their first point in this season’s continental tournament, but East Bengal’s winless streak continued with a their second consecutive draw.
Both teams had their opportunities, particularly after the interval, but a combination of wayward finishing, resolute defending, and crucial goalkeeping kept the score line at 0-0. Phurba Lachenpa was particularly important for East Bengal, making several key saves to deny the hosts.
East Bengal came close to scoring through David Lalhlansanga, Edmund Lalrindika, and Aké Loba, but the Red-and-Gold Brigade failed to convert their chances. Al-Seeb also threatened the East Bengal goal on multiple occasions, but lacked the finishing touch in the final third.
In the end, neither side could find a winner, and the points were shared. While the clean sheet will offer some encouragement to both defences, both teams will rue their missed opportunities in a contest that ended goalless.
East Bengal FC will next face Al-Seeb in their AFC Champions League Two 2026–27 campaign on November 3, 2026, at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (Salt Lake Stadium) in Kolkata, with kick-off scheduled for 7:15 PM IST. The Red-and-Gold Brigade will look to make home advantage count after playing out a goalless draw in Oman.
Following that encounter, East Bengal will host Al-Hussein SC on November 24 before wrapping up their group-stage campaign against Al-Shorta SC away from home on December 8.
Here are the player ratings for the fixture of East Bengal FC vs Al-Shorta SC!
East Bengal Player Ratings
Catch Every Update, Anytime, Anywhere
Phurba Lachenpa – 7/10
Lachenpa was named in the starting XI in place of Prabhsukhan Singh Gill for the match. The Indian custodian looked calm and composed between the posts, making a few good saves to keep the score line 0-0.
He kept a clean sheet and did his job with confidence, but at the end, it was his attacking teammates, who failed to deliver goals at the other end.
Lalchungnunga – 6/10
Lalchungnunga looked tired and clumsy at the right-back position today and later on was substituted by Sandip Mandi. Much was expected from the experienced defender, but he lacked the quality tonight and had an average outing.
Anwar Ali – 6.5/10
Anwar showed the intent to get involved, showed pace and helped to maintain the basic structure, but struggled at times to keep the ball under his control but today he was well supported by his partner in centra defence, Diego Živulić.
Diego Živulić – 7/10

Despite the goalless draw, Živulić was solid at the back for the Red and Gold Brigade. He was composed on the ball and performed well in aerial duels. The Croatian had a good outing, but his teammates lacked the quality to help East Bengal secure a positive result.
Jay Gupta – 5.5/10

Jay Gupta was functional in attack and disciplined as well. He kept the flanks under control and often kept possession, contributing to the team’s overall structure. But was not at sublime touch which was needed from him.
Jeakson Singh -5.5/10
Jeakson Singh was not at his best tonight and looked completely out of place in midfield. He appeared tired and was clumsy at times. Although he created a few chances, he lacked quality in his execution and struggled to communicate effectively with his teammates.
He was eventually substituted by Rohit Kumar in the second half. Jeakson struggled to operate smoothly in midfield and was outclassed by Al-Seeb’s attackers on several occasions.
Mohammed Basim Rashid – 6.5/10

Rashid was highly effective on the field today and once again proved why he has been one of East Bengal’s best midfield recruits in recent years. The captain led from the front, but his teammates will need to support him better if East Bengal are to secure more positive results in the upcoming matches.
Throughout the match, he remained a constant threat with his intelligent movement and positioning, frequently creating opportunities. He was involved in East Bengal’s corner kicks and free kicks but also missed a few scoring chances.
However, a little more quality was expected from a player of Rashid’s calibre, particularly in the final third, where his performance lacked the desired cutting edge.
Daniel Ramirez Fernandez – 6/10

Dani Ramírez once again showed plenty of intent in midfield and remained heavily involved in the game, playing the full 90 minutes.
However, he lacked communication with his wingers at times, took a few poor shots from individual efforts, and lacked the extra edge and quality required in the final third.
Bipin Singh – 6.5/10
Bipin Singh was not fully utilised by his teammates on the right flank. However, whenever he received the ball, he showed plenty of promise and quality.
He took a few shots that missed the goal, but one of his attempts struck the woodwork, while a beautifully struck curler was saved by the Al-Seeb goalkeeper in the closing stages of the match. Although Bipin had a decent outing, his performance could have been excellent had he managed to score.
Edmund Lalrindika – 5/10
Edmund Lalrindika was not at his best, lacking pace and quality in the final third. He looked a bit slow and struggled to coordinate with his attacking partners, Jay Gupta, David Hmar, and Dani Ramírez.
Much was expected of the forward, but he failed to make an impact. He attempted a few shots, but none troubled the opposition, with poor shot selection and inaccurate passes hampering his performance. He was eventually substituted by Asif Khan.
Both Habas and Edmund would be disappointed with this performance, as the forward was expected to be one of East Bengal’s key attacking threats in the final third.
David Lalhlansanga – 5/10
Similar to Edmund, David also struggled to judge the ball and lacked quality in finishing and in the final third. He was kept quiet by the Al-Seeb defenders throughout the match.
He played until the 70th minute before being substituted by Aké Loba. However, much was expected of David following his stellar performance in the previous game against Al-Shorta.
Substitutes
Sandip Mandi -5.5/10
Sandip Mandi came on for a tired Lalchungnunga in the 60th minute. He made a few clearances and dealt with several incoming balls comfortably. He looked comfortable at the back alongside Anwar Ali and Živulić, but at times misplaced passes and appeared shaky and clumsy in his defensive play.
Rohit Kumar -5.5/10
After an impressive performance in the previous ISL match against Inter Kashi, Rohit Kumar came on as a substitute for a tired and clumsy Jeakson Singh in midfield. He completed a few passes but lacked the quality and coordination needed to link up effectively with his midfield partners, Rashid and Dani Ramírez.
Rohit had a bad day at the office, committing a rash foul shortly after coming off the bench and receiving an immediate yellow card. Habas introduced him in the hope of securing a positive result, but Rohit failed to make the desired impact.
Aké Loba -6/10
Aké Loba, who scored a brace against Inter Kashi in the ISL, came into the game in good form. He came off the bench to replace David Hmar and tried his best to hold up the ball while creating a few goal-scoring opportunities. However, it was not his day, as he missed a golden opportunity to score.
Loba might have made a greater impact had he been given more playing time. Habas could have considered starting him ahead of either David Hmar or Edmund Lalrindika to give East Bengal a better chance of securing a positive result.
Md. Asif Khan – N/R
Asif Khan came on as a substitute for Edmund Lalrindika but failed to make much of an impact. He misplaced a few passes and struggled to coordinate with Bipin Singh, Aké Loba, and Dani Ramírez in the attacking third. Overall, Asif had a quiet outing and did little to influence the game.
