India will start their campaign against Australia

Jeddah is all set to host the AFC U-17 Men’s Asian Cup 2026 from 5th May 2026 onwards, where 16 teams including India from the length and breadth of Asia gear up to taste continental success during their youth years.

After failing to qualify in the AFC Asian Cup and AFC U-23 Asian Cup, the Indian U-17 team will be India’s solitary hope in Asia.

The path to Saudi Arabia was never easy for the Blue Colts, who did the unthinkable by defeating the mighty Iranians to make it to the AFC U-17 Asian Cup 2026.

After dropping points against Palestine and Lebanon, India needed a win against Iran in the final match. Despite trailing in the first 20 minutes, the Blue Colts, led by Bibiano Fernandes, went on to score twice.

Both India and Iran finished at seven points, but India were ahead of Iran in head-to-head.

A tough test for India

India have been drawn in a tough group alongside Australia, Uzbekistan and North Korea in Group D. The top two teams will make it to the knockout stages. Taking a look at India’s opponents, we find that both Uzbekistan and North Korea have won the competition twice previously.

Australia, on the other hand, are three-time semi-finalists and India’s best ever performance have been making it to the quarter finals in 2018.

Though the road to the knockout seems difficult, Bibiano’s men will leave no stone unturned to pull an upset in Saudi Arabia.

10 May: India vs Uzbekistan at 10:30 PM IST

13 May: India vs North Korea at 9:30 PM IST

When and where to watch the AFC U17 Men’s Asian Cup live in India?

India will kickstart their campaign against Australia on 6 May 2026 at 21:30 IST before taking on Uzbekistan on 10 May 2026 at 22:30 IST.

India’s final game of the group stage campaign will feature North Korea on 13 May 2026 at 21:30 IST. All the matches will be played in the King Abdullah Sports City Complex in Jeddah.

The game will be streamed live on the official Youtube channel of AFC Asian Cup for all viewers in India.
