AFC U20 Asian Cup Qualifiers: All you need to know

Blue Colts will face Syria in August 31 to kick off their campaign.

The AFC U20 Asian Cup Qualifiers are set to be an important couple of fixtures for the India U20 Men’s National Football Team, as the qualifiers will look to set a tone for the Blue Colts with the young players of the team, who ought to aim for the continental stage.

India U20 Men’s National Football Team have been drawn alongside Syria, Bangladesh & the hosts Uzbekistan in the AFC U20 Asian Cup Qualifiers in Group B, as all the games of the Blue Colts are set to be played in Uzbekistan. The continental stage qualifiers will be a stepping stone for Mahesh Gawali’s squad as they aim to qualify for the AFC U20 Asian Cup main round for the first time since 2006, when they hosted the tournament.

With three games in hand, the India side could have no room for mistakes, as they don’t have that much time after the fixture has been released officially; it looks very tricky for the Blue Army. They need to concentrate first on the Syria clash on 31st August, 2026, then a tough home side, Uzbekistan, will wait for them on home soil, as the last game over Bangladesh could also be very tough to battle it out.
