The Stakes

India Preview

India couldn’t have asked for a better start, thrashing Mongolia 13-0 and comfortably beating Timor-Leste 4-0. Coach Crispin Chhetri has rotated his squad effectively, using 22 outfield players across the two matches. Pyari Xaxa has led from the front with five goals, supported by strong performances from Manisha Kalyan, Anju Tamang, and Lynda Kom Serto.

However, the injury to Soumya Guguloth, who suffered a nasal fracture, is a blow to the team’s attacking depth. Despite this, India remain favourites, given their superior ranking and form.
