The five-times FIFA World Cup champions, Brazil are all set to begin a new phase after their RO16 exit to Norway in FIFA World Cup 2026. The Seleção are scheduled to play three international friendlies in the upcoming September-October FIFA international window.
The Seleção will first travel to Australia and face the hosts twice before travelling to India and facing them on October 3rd at the VYBK Stadium in Kolkata. Some major reshuffling is expected to be done by the head coach Carlo Ancelotti as the Brazilian team enter a new phase and gear up for the next Copa America and FIFA World Cup.
The Seleção’s arrival to India has generated immense buzz among the football fans in India as this is an opportunity for many to witness their idols play live.

September 9th is expected to be a very important date for not only the Brazilian football fans but also the Indian football fans as head coach Carlo Ancelotti will name the squad for the friendlies against India and Australia that day.
Major reshuffling is expected to take place as Carlo Ancelotti already said earlier that he is looking at these friendlies to test Brazil’s next generation.
“With these three friendlies, we will start the new cycle to project the Seleção in the objectives of the coming years, which are the 2028 Copa America and the 2030 World Cup. We will take advantage of the three friendlies to call up new players for the national team, especially young players, who can show their talent in the national team in the coming years,” said Carlo Ancelotti speaking to the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF).
“The integration with the youth categories and the evaluation of the work in the Under-15, Under-17 and Under-20 are very important. We have to take into account that, four years ago, Rayan played in the U-17, which was a very important player. We have to have a good connection with the U-20, also take advantage of the preparation for the next Olympics, in which many players can, in theory, be in the 2030 World Cup,” he added.
Therefore, it is expected that the Brazilian youngsters doing wonders will most likely be part of this Brazil squad.

Goalkeepers: Albino Gomes, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, Prabhsukhan Singh Gill, Som Kumar.
Defenders: Abhishek Singh Tekcham, Akash Mishra, Anwar Ali, Bijoy Varghese, Hmingthanmawia Ralte, Jay Gupta, Pramveer, Ricky Meetei Haobam.
Midfielders: Anirudh Thapa, Ashique Kuruniyan, Farukh Choudhary, Lalengmawia Ralte, Macarton Nickson, Mohammed Sanan, Ricky Shabong, Sahal Abdul Samad.
Forwards: Edmund Lalrindika, Irfan Yadwad, Manvir Singh, Rahim Ali, Ryan Williams, Vikram Partap Singh.
Head coach: Khalid Jamil
Four players have been named as reserves — goalkeeper Hrithik Tiwari, defenders Chinglensana Singh Konsham and Roshan Singh Naorem, and midfielder Suresh Singh Wangjam — and may be called up to the squad if required.
