Mohammedan SC are ready to get into action in the 135th edition of the Durand Cup. The Black Panthers have been drawn in Group B alongside Baghpat FC, Samaleswari Sporting and Indian Army FT.
After a devastating Indian Super League (ISL) last season, where they didn’t secure a single win, Mohammedan SC are looking to test their fortune once again on the biggest stage of Indian football. The Black Panthers faced relegation from the ISL but will now try to prove their worth in the Durand Cup.

Mohammedan SC aim for redemption after their ISL exit
The Black Panthers won two Durand Cup titles and will look to secure their third title, but it will not be an easy job for them. Last time Mohammedan won the Durand Cup was in 2013 when they edged past ONGC by a 2-1 scoreline in the final game in New Delhi ending a 73 year long, wait was broken that year as they won the first Durand Cup before independence in 1940.
Mohammedan SC will begin their journey against Baghpat FC on 27th July at 19:00 IST. And the rest of the two games against Samaleswari Sporting and Indian Army FT will be played on 2nd August and 12th August.

There is one positive point from their Group B as the Black Panthers will play all of their group games at Kolkata, which will give them an extra boost. In front of their supporters, Mohammedan SC will look to give their best after the bad ISL stint.
They are not one of the biggest clubs, as per their performances in the recent years. They have multiple problems around their club that they need to solve if they want to be the best in the country again.
