The Mariners have already showcased promise in the early periods under Panagiotis Dilmperis, as they look to move into the knockout stages of the Durand Cup with a commanding win over the CISF Protectors side.

For Mohun Bagan SG, the start to the Panagiotis Dilmperis era hasn’t exactly been perfect, but they have produced some commendable performances and more important – won both their games under him so far. The Greek gaffer is still trying to perfectly implement his playing style, but the Mariners have produced some eye-catching attacking football under him so far.

Mohun Bagan SG will look to unleash the might of their dangerous attacking threat against the CISF Protectors, in a match they will dominate the control of possession.

They’ll need to be ruthless in finishing off chances to get another big win under their belt, knowing that a draw or loss to this struggling CISF Protectors side can be very embarrassing and a huge morale drainer before the Durand Cup knockout stages.

CISF Protectors

CISF Protectors will look to take something positive from the game

For the CISF Protectors side, the participation at the 2026 Durand Cup against some of the biggest and strongest teams in Indian football has been a learning experience.

They have lost both their matches in the group stages so far and basically need a bit of a miracle to be able to get any kind of a positive result against the Mariners.

They will need to put many players behind the ball and maintain a really strong defensive shape to be able to frustrate the Mariners’ players, all while looking to be smart on the transitions to try to capitalize in the Kolkata giants’ errors.

Even a draw or a narrow loss could be a decent result for the CISF Protectors, while a win would make it one of the stories of the 2026 Durand Cup itself!

Team News

Mohun Bagan SG have a fully fit unit available for this clash, while their new signing Miguel Figueira could make his debut in this one.

CISF Protectors should also have the same squad available for them in the last few matches.

Manvir Singh has had a pretty bright start to the 2026-27 season under Panagiotis Dilmperis, being utilized in a centre-forward role in the absence of Jamie Maclaren.

The India international might not have been that effective in the recent derby win over East Bengal, but he proved how clinical he can be against South United recently. Singh has already scored three goals at the 2026 Durand Cup for his side, which also includes a hat-trick in the previous game.

He’ll look to continue prospering in the centre-forward role, knowing there is a chance to impress Dilmperis and play more often in that position this season.

Singh, however, needs to be clever with his link-up play to trouble the CISF Protectors defenders and be clinical with finishing off chances to get more goals to his tally.

Raj Kumar (CISF Protectors)

For CISF Protectors, a lot of their hopes will be bound to their goalkeeper Raj Kumar. He might have already having conceded 10 goals in two matches in the competition, but the goalkeeper has a chance to get more of a limelight in Indian football against Mohun Bagan.

Kumar has to be extremely agile in front of his sticks, tracking the movement of the ball well and needing to showcase quick reflexes as well.

If Kumar is able to prove his shot-stopping heroics by making clutch saves repeatedly against Mohun Bagan, he can help put the Mariners under more pressure and attract mistakes off them.

He’ll need to produce the performance of his career to keep this dangerous Mariners’ frontline quiet and get any kind of a positive result for his side.
