After winning the last season’s ISL trophy, they are one of the favourites to win the Durand title, as they have won the title 16 times before, just one title behind the Mariners, who have 17 titles in their bag.

The Red and Gold Brigade under Antonio Lopez Habas looks very confident, but they will surely miss the services of their last season’s main players like Miguel, who joined Mohun Bagan, Kevin and Youssef. Talking about the all time Durand Cup champions, Mohun Bagan SG, they are looking very positive as they started their training earlier than East Bengal, which might give them an extra advantage. The Mariners, under a new coach, need to find a solid rhythm. With one of the best Indian core squads, they might threaten the ISL champions.

Mohun Bagan SG is also expected to play an all Indian squad, as Dezan Drazic could add something different coming off the bench. But in this high voltage game both the teams will look to win the first three points.
