Under the guidance of Carles Cuadrat, East Bengal FC broke the losing streak in the Kolkata derby with a resounding 1-0 victory over Mohun Bagan Super Giant in the group-stage fixture. Yet another 1-0 scoreline. Mohun Bagan Super Giant recorded their 17th Durand Cup title in style as they defeated the Red and Gold Brigade by the finest margin. Despite Anirudh Thapa conceding a red card, the Mariners played with 10 men, and Dimitri Petratos’ 71st-minute left-footed strike sealed the deal for Juan Ferrando’s men.

Durand Cup 2025: EBFC 2-1 MBSG (Quarterfinals)

East Bengal FC stunned Mohun Bagan Super Giant by a 2-1 scoreline in the quarter-finals of the 2025 Durand Cup as Oscar Bruzon’s men advanced to the semis. Greek forward Dimitrios Diamantakos found the back of the net in each half as his brace powered the Red and Gold Brigade to record a crucial victory to qualify for the next round.
