Three East Bengal players that can improve from Bipin Singh's signing

East Bengal roped in Bipin Singh on a free transfer from Mumbai City FC.
East Bengal have significantly strengthened their squad with the signing of Bipin Singh to add more firepower to their frontline. The Red & Gold Brigade were able to strike a deal with the 30-year-old India international to join them as a free agent after he opted to leave Mumbai City following nine years with the club.
Bipin Singh has won it all in the Indian Super League (ISL), having clinched the ISL League Shield and the ISL Cup titles twice in his career. He has the experience of having scored decisive goals in not just one, but two ISL finals in his past. The 30-year-old is a rapid figure on the wide areas with his blistering movement and tenacity in the final third.
He’s an impressive goal scorer, but can also be creative enough to help those around him. Bipin’s exciting playing style and ability to do something special in the final third can definitely benefit a number of East Bengal players, as we look at the 3 East Bengal players who can significantly improve from Bipin’s arrival.
3. Edmund Lalrindika
Edmund Lalrindika has made his return to East Bengal as their major Indian signing for the 2025 summer window. He enjoyed a pretty impressive 2024-25 I-League campaign in which he scored five goals and provided six assists in 19 league games for Inter Kashi.
Edmund will be determined to maintain and improve upon those numbers in the ISL, and he can actually form a pretty solid partnership with Bipin Singh at his new club. Bipin is an incisive winger who likes to get into goal-scoring positions often, but he can also combine really well with his strikers.
That means Singh can help create big chances for Edmund to pounce on in the final third once they form that understanding and enhance that chemistry. If he’s able to make Bipin understand when to play the perfect passes to him in the final third, Lalrdinka could be fed many major goal opportunities and can combine with his new teammates for many goals.
2. Naorem Mahesh Singh
Naorem Mahesh Singh was definitely unlucky in terms of not being able to witness his created chances converted into goals in the 2024-25 ISL campaign.
The 26-year-old has been appointed as the new East Bengal captain and might also have more luck in terms of having his chances capitalized on by the arrival of Bipin Singh.
The ex-Mumbai City winger has the knack of getting at the end of chances and is quite precise with his finishing ability as well.
He has already scored 28 goals in the ISL in his career, which includes goals in big occasions like two ISL finals. Mahesh Singh can look to combine more often with Bipin in the frontline, and look to play him with dangerous passes into the final third.
Bipin can definitely help Naorem grab more assists if he’s able to convert his chances ruthlessly and help raise East Bengal’s goal threat.
1. Dimitrios Diamantakos

Dimitrios Diamantakos had a difficult first season with East Bengal, being unable to really perform up to the expectations of the majority of fans. The Greek forward only scored four goals in 19 ISL games in the 2024-25 season, but he now has a proactive and efficient winger to work with in the form of Bipin Singh.
The 30-year-old winger loves to get the ball into the danger zones in the final third with his smart movement and boasts a threatening crossing ability using both his feet.
Bipin will be looking to the ball into the open areas in the final third and make some clever crosses to help feed Diamantakos with major chances inside the box.
Diamantakos can form a solid bond with Bipin because of their hunger for goal contributions and proactive nature, and the Greek forward can significantly benefit from Bipin’s creative qualities in the 2025-26 season.
What role will Bipin Singh play at East Bengal?
Bipin is expected to be a key winger, offering creativity, pace, and goal-scoring threat from wide areas for East Bengal.
How did Bipin Singh perform at Mumbai City FC?
Bipin Singh 2 ISL Cups and 2 shields and scored in two ISL finals during his successful nine-year stint at Mumbai City FC.
