Emami Group steps down as East Bengal investor, remains club sponsor
Emami to continue as sponsor for East Bengal.
In a recent development, Emami has ended their role as an investor and manager at East Bengal FC after being with the ISL champions for almost 4 years since taking over the club in 2022.
Emami announced on 25th August that they have transferred the entire shareholding and associated voting rights to the club itself. But this will not be the end of the Emami – East Bengal partnership as they will continue as the club’s sponsor, ensuring their long association with East Bengal remains strong and intact.
Now, East Bengal must look for investors and get the stability back as soon as possible, as the ISL champions will not only be playing the ISL this season, but also the AFC Champions League Two.

The partnership of Emami and East Bengal saw a golden period in the club’s history for both the men’s and women’s football teams.
The men’s team won East Bengal FC’s first-ever ISL trophy in 2025-26, along with the Super Cup in 2024 and consecutive Calcutta League titles in 2024 and 2025.
The women’s team won two back-to-back IWL titles in the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons. They also won the Kanyashree Cup in 2023 and made history when they secured East Bengal’s first-ever international title, winning the inaugural SAFF Women’s Club Championship in 2025 and also qualifying for the AFC Champions League.
Emami to continue as sponsors

Although the Emami group have now stepped away from the ownership of the club, they will still continue to be associated with East Bengal as their sponsor.

The transition therefore does not mean that East Bengal’s association with Emami completely ends. However, now East Bengal FC will have to look for new investors if needed to bring stability to the club, as they will also be playing in the AFC Champions League Two this season.
