This year’s Durand Cup has kicked off with only six ISL clubs choosing to compete in the tournament amidst the uncertainty surrounding the upcoming ISL season.
Punjab FC, one of the six clubs, have, however, already made it to the headlines not just through transfer rumours or tactical displays but through quietly uploading a new crest.

How does the new Punjab FC logo look like?

The updated logo features a roaring lion’s head above the name of the club and is entirely different from the minimal circular logo used by them for a long time.
While there has been no formal announcement from the club, the new crest was first spotted on the Durand Cup website, indicating that this new crest and identity could be official.
How did the fans react to the new Punjab FC crest?

The new club crest for the Shers has caused a lot of backlash for the club as fans seem disappointed over the design. Fans took to social media to voice their displeasure about the new crest.
Taking to the Instagram comment section of the Khel Now post, the fans shared how they felt it was a downgrade and compared the new logo to logos that resembled the charity cricket teams.
However, the notion garnered some funny and interesting comments from the fraternity on Twitter with people claiming the logo to be ‘designed by an intern’ or a knock-off version of a ‘Kabaddi team’ logo.
