The India U-15 team lost 4-5 on penalties to Kazakhstan after a 5-5 draw in regular time.The Blue Colts were the favourites to top Group K and qualify for Tier A. However, the draw against Grenada and a big defeat to Senegal in the final group-stage fixture saw them slip to the third spot.
In the opening fixture of Tier C, India faced a 2-1 defeat to Honduras. They then went on to get the better of Trinidad and Tobago, 3-2, in a five goal thriller before Afghanistan won 2-1 narrowly against the Blue Colts.
In the most recent encounter against Kazakhstan, the Blue Colts scored five and the game went down to penalties, where they lost 5-4 narrowly. For India, Victor Lalawmpuia scored four goals and a solitary goal was scored by Lalremruatfela.
Cuba U-15
Talking about Cuba, they finished third in Group AB with nine points behind Czechia and Jamaica. They scored 14 goals and conceded 12 across five games.
In the opening game of Tier C, they succumbed to a 4-0 defeat to Benin. In the next game, Cuba went on to thrash North Caledonia 8-1. They then suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat to Vietnam before Mozambique got the better of them recently.
India has so far played two teams from the CONCACAF region. They lost to Honduras but went on to defeat Trinidad and Tobago 3-2. Cuba, on the other hand suffered a defeat when they faced an Asian side in the form of Vietnam.
