They qualified for the Women’s AFCON 2026 after emerging as the winners of the second round, and with less than a few months remaining, these games are crucial for the home team.

What to expect from this clash?

In the last calendar year, Kenya clinched the silver medal in the 2025 CECAFA Championship after getting the better of teams like South Sudan, Uganda and Burundi. They also qualified for the Women’s AFCON 2026 and have been drawn alongside strong teams like hosts Morocco, Algeria and Senegal.

They are led by Beldine Odemba, who is also referred to as the Mistress of Multitasking, as she is the coach of the Kenya Police Bullets, alongside managing the Harambee Starlets.

For the Indian team, this is a great opportunity to start everything afresh. For head coach Crispin Chettri, who previously won the top division with Odisha FC, this would be a big test that could determine his future with the national team.

Crispin gave a chance to many new faces. In the absence of Panthoi Chanu, Shreya Hooda will be expected to step up between the sticks for India.
