Churchill Brothers SC have been crowned as the provisional I-League champions.

The final match week of the 2024-25 I-League season once again delivered some shock and decisive results. Sunday’s games saw three games played simultaneously with the title race reaching its epic conclusion. Fourth-placed Inter Kashi FC welcomed Rajasthan United FC at the Kalyani Stadium for a possibly must-win game for the I-League title race.

The game finished 3-1 for the Kashi Warriors, courtesy of goals from Edmund Lalrindika, Prasanth Karuthadathkuni and M Babovic who sealed all three points in style. While they currently have 39 points after 22 games, they still await the result from the AIFF on one of their older games against Namdhari FC, the points of the game being up for grabs.

The second game of the weekend witnessed Gokulam Kerala FC welcome Dempo SC in Kozhikode. It was a disappointing game for Gokulam who lost 3-4 at home to Dempo SC, ending their title hopes on a negative note. A hattrick of goals from Thabiso Brown went in vain after goals from Kapil Hoble, Didier Brossou and a brace from Cristian Roa sealed things at the EMS Stadium.

The final game of the weekend and of the season witnessed third-placed Real Kashmir FC welcome Churchill Brothers SC at the TRC Polo Synthetic Turf. A game which needed Churchill Brothers SC to get a positive result ended in a 1-1 draw between the sides.

Goals from Ramsanga and Rafiq Aminu for their respective teams ensured that Churchill Brothers SC were crowned provisional I-League champions. The provisional tag is courtesy of the result awaiting the AIFF hearing concerning the results of the match between Inter Kashi and Namdhari FC.
