I-League 2024-25: All six foreigners of Inter Kashi FC

Coach Antonio López will be hoping his foreign recruits make an impact this season.

I-League club Inter Kashi are aiming high and looking to build a strong team ahead of the 2024-2025 I-League campaign. Coach Antonio Habas has assembled a formidable lineup of six foreign players, with each name bringing a wealth of talent and experience.

The foreign players come from represent European countries like Spain, Finland, Serbia, and Morocco. The 67-year-old will be hoping his new signings add depth, versatility, and flair to the Inter Kashi squad.

Here’s a closer look at the foreign contingent set to light up the league for Inter Kashi.

David Humanes (Spain)

The 28-year-old towering defender is a new signing made by coach López from Spanish third-tier side Antequera CF. The Spaniard is expected to anchor Inter Kashi’s backline in the upcoming campaign. The 6’2″ defender possesses excellent aerial ability, positional awareness, and composure under pressure.

The Spaniard is expected to provide much-needed stability and leadership at the heart of Inter Kashi’s defense. His playing career in European leagues makes him a valuable asset for the club looking to build a solid defensive foundation.

Joni Kauko (Finland)

Coach López has also brought in a seasoned Finnish midfielder and a former Mohun Bagan player Joni Kauko. The 34-year-old brings an impressive skill set to Inter Kashi, as a player known for his work rate, ball distribution, and tactical intelligence.

Kauko is expected to orchestrate play from the heart of midfield and will bring a lot of club football experience to the club.

Having been a player with international experience representing Finland under the brightest of lights, Kauko’s presence will ensure control and creativity in the center of the park. The 6’2″ midfielder will play a crucial role in the team’s ambitions this season.

Nikola Stojanovic (Serbia)

Accompanying Kauko in the midfield is gonna be former Mohammedan SC and Gokulam Kerala FC midfielder and new signing Nikola Stojanovic. The Serbian playmaker is known for his technical proficiency and ability to unlock defenses.

His vision, passing accuracy, and knack for scoring from a distance make him a dual threat in creating and finishing opportunities. The player also balled out during the 2024-2025 Durand Cup competition.

While making three appearances, Stojanovic contributed for Inter Kashi with two goals. Along with Kauko, his partnership is poised to become one of the league’s most dynamic midfield duos.

Julen Peréz (Spain)

The attacking midfielder from Spain will be the creative heartbeat of the team. With an uncanny ability to operate between the lines, Peréz excels in threading through balls and creating chances in tight spaces.

A flair player with an ability to be unpredictable in moments of brilliance and magic on the field, Peréz will keep opposition defenses on edge throughout the season.

Domi Berlanga (Spain/Morocco)

A player with Spanish and Moroccan roots, Berlanga brings pace, trickery, and crossing ability for Inter Kashi on the right flank.

The 29-year-old winger’s versatility allows him to cut inside or stretch play wide, making him a constant threat. His ability to dribble and deliver accurate balls into the box will be pivotal in supporting the attack.

Berlanga also becomes another player who brings with him a ton of European experience, especially following his move from Andorran side Inter Escaldes this season. The player appears to be a smart choice by coach López ahead of what could be an important campaign for his side.

Mario Barco (Spain)

A player expected to lead the line for Inter Kashi is Mario Barco. The 31-year-old Spanish striker is blessed with a keen eye for goal and will be the go-to man for coach López this season. The former CF Numancia striker’s physicality, sharp movements, and clinical finishing make him a nightmare for opposition defenders.

Barco has experience in the Spanish lower leagues and over time has honed his ability to capitalize on goal-scoring opportunities. His form and service to him by the midfielders will determine how far Inter Kashi can go this season in the I-League.
