The transfer window has already seen a flurry of interesting players being roped in by both ISL and I-League clubs.
It is that time of the year again when clubs from both the leagues in India have the opportunity to make amends to their team for the business end of the season. While some of the teams were forced to make changes and bring in new reinforcements, others simply decided to run through changes after disappointing results. The headliner of the latest Indian football transfer news has to be the arrival of Deshorn Brown to Bengaluru FC to address their goalscoring issues. While captain Sunil Chhetri has been in sublime form, the Blues still miss their former talisman in Miku. Meanwhile, ATK have signed centre-back Victor Mongil to replace the injured John Johnson. Mongil recently featured in ATK's 0-2 win over Mumbai City away from home. With many teams looking for new recruits, Triadis could very well find another team in India. Lastly, Mohamed Larbi who was highly speculated to part ways with Mumbai City FC in January has extended his stay with the Islanders. It was recently made official by the club. The 34-year old attacking midfielder plies his trade for Real Majadahondo, which is also the former club of Jamshedpur's current head coach Antonio Iriondo. With their injury list growing with every passing game, Iriondo need fresh recruits and it remains to be seen whether Carlitos makes his way to India. Jamshedpur FC have also made an inquisition as they have signed Spanish forward David Grande in the transfer window. The 28-year-old will be available for selection for the Men of Steel's game against Bengaluru FC on January 9.I-League
The biggest Indian football transfer news from the I-League has to be Pedro Manzi leaving reigning champions, Chennai City FC for greener pastures in Japan. The Spanish forward scored 21 goals and was the joint-top scorer of the I-League last season, as he inspired his side to lift their first-ever I-League title. The 31-year-old has joined J2-League outfit Albirex Niigita. Another groundbreaking transfer was Senegalese striker, Papa Babacar Diawara joining Mohun Bagan. The former Sevilla FC forward comes as a replacement for Spanish forward Salva Chamorro, who failed to impress the management and supporters. Diawara comes with experience of playing in top European leagues and will hope to bring joy back for the Mariners this season. The 23-year-old player who regularly features in the Tajikistan national team has plied his trade for Istiklol FC and also played in the Intercontinental Cup earlier this year in India. Meanwhile, Aizawl FC have shown great trust in their local youngsters and that has paid dividends with the team's performances off late. Therefore the Reds decided to sign a bunch of new local talents who impressed in the Mizoram Premier League. The players are, Zothanmawia (Chanmari FC), Lalthlahlova (Chhinga Veng), Ramhlunchhunga (Electric Veng FC), MC Malsawmzuala (Chhinga Veng FC).
