The Deccan Warriors field a balanced squad this season

The I-League 2024-25 season is all set to commence from 22nd November 2024. The I-League is currently underway with intense competition among clubs. The ultimate goal for each team is to secure promotion to the Indian Super League (ISL). Punjab FC were the club to get promoted to the ISL in the 2022-2023 season while Mohammedan SC were the champions last season.

Sreenidi Deccan FC have emerged as one of the strong contenders in the I-League, consistently challenging for the top spot over the past few seasons. Despite their impressive performances, the club has narrowly missed out on promotion to the Indian Super League in the past two seasons, finishing as runners-up to both Punjab FC and Mohammedan SC.

Following the departure of Carlos Vaz Pinto, Sreenidi Deccan FC appointed Rui Amorim as their new head coach in September to lead the team ahead of the 2024-25 season

Key departures for the Deccan Warriors were Albino Gomez who was their goalkeeper, Rilwan Hassan was an incredible striker and was a constant threat to opposition defenses, and Ibrahima Cissoko often played a crucial role in midfield.

Sreenidi Deccan FC have retained the core of their squad, including the dangerous duo of David Castañeda and William Alves. The duo’s impressive goal-scoring record was instrumental in the team’s strong performance last season as they scored a total of 20 goals.

The club has also retained other key players like Eli Sabiá, Faysal Shayesteh, Jagdeep Singh, Lalromawia, Brandon Vanlalremdika, and Rosenberg Gabriel, to ensure continuity and stability.

Sreenidi Deccan have made strategic signings this season. The addition of experienced players like Ángel Orelien and Roly Bonevacia have added depth to the squad.

Under the new coach, Sreenidi Deccan FC will be eager and optimistic to get their maiden silverware
