I-League 2024-25: Updated Points Table, most goals, and most assists after Aizawl FC vs Gokulam Kerala FC

Namdhari FC and Real Kashmir FC are just three points behind I-League table toppers Churchill Brothers.

Matchweek 16 of I-League unfolded with high-octane drama as Aizawl FC and Gokulam Kerala FC shared the spoils in a close game. The match week began with Namdhari and Churchill Brothers share the spoils, with both sides unable to break the deadlock, concluding in a hard-fought draw.

Monday’s games featured Rajasthan United and Real Kashmir, where Maicol Cabrera stole the show for the home side. Alain Oyarzun set the tone by breaking the deadlock in the 13th minute, swiftly followed by Cabrera’s strike just two minutes later, doubling Rajasthan’s advantage within the opening quarter-hour.

The match was capped off by a 92nd-minute stoppage-time goal from Gautam Virwani, sealing a crucial victory for Rajasthan United. Tuesday’s schedule of games began with Dempo SC facing Sreenidi Deccan battling it out in the lower half of the table.

The intense game witnessed Sreenidi Deccan come back from a two goals deficit to upset the hosts. The hosts went into half-time with a comfortable 2-0 lead courtesy of goals from Marcus Joseph and Juan Mera. However, Deccan had some other plans and fought back in style courtesy of a brace from David Castañeda Munoz and Brandon Vanlalremdika.

However, the main game from Tuesday came between Aizawl FC and Gokulam Kerala FC. A game which saw goals, it was Gokulam Kerala FC who came out on top. Despite taking an early lead in the 17th minute, the game couldn’t have gone any worse for the home side.

Yet, the most dramatic twist came off the pitch, shaking the league standings to their core. In a shocking turn of events, Gokulam Kerala scored in stoppage time through Thabiso Brown to the dismay of the home fans. 

A huge win for Gokulam Kerala, who climbed up to fourth spot and closer to the league leaders Churchill Brothers SC. The ripple effect of this result has added even more intrigue to the title chase, leaving fans and clubs alike recalibrating their expectations for the remainder of the season.

I-League points table after Aizawl FC vs Gokulam Kerala FC 

The updated I-League points table has taken a dramatic turn following the recent result. Churchill Brothers retaining their position at the summit. The leaders are followed by Namdhari FC and Real Kashmir FC, who are level on 26 points after 16 games. However, the biggest shift sees Gokulam Kerala FC leapfrogging Inter Kashi to claim fourth place, while the latter sits in fifth spot with a game in hand.

While Rajasthan United FC holds the sixth spot after their game and have 24 points after 16 games. They are followed by Shillong Lajong FC and Sreenidi Deccan FC with 23 and 22 points respectively in the seventh and eighth spot. After their recent loss, Dempo SC stay in the ninth spot with 19 points as SC Bengaluru sits five points behind them in tenth with 14 points.

While Aizawl FC and Delhi FC round of the last two spots with 11 points and 10 points respectively.
