Matchday 15 of the I-League 2024-25 concluded with an action-packed doubleheader, featuring Rajasthan United FC’s narrow defeat to Sreenidi Deccan and a dramatic draw between Shillong Lajong and Dempo SC. The match at Vidyadhar Nagar Stadium in Jaipur saw Sreenidi Deccan take the lead in the 43rd minute through Angel Orelien’s strike. David Munoz then doubled the advantage in the 73rd minute, putting the visitors in firm control.
Despite Rajasthan United’s quick response, with Maicol Cabrera pulling one back just two minutes later, Sreenidi Deccan held firm at the back to secure all three points. Meanwhile, Shillong Lajong salvaged a draw against Dempo SC with a last-gasp 97th-minute equalizer, ensuring a dramatic end to the night’s fixtures. The results saw Sreenidi Deccan climb higher in the I-League standings, while Rajasthan United and Shillong Lajong will look to bounce back in the coming matches.
The final fixture of Matchweek 15 saw an exhilarating clash between Dempo SC and Shillong Lajong at the Fatorda Stadium in Margao, Goa. Dempo’s Marcus Joseph opened the scoring in the 39th minute, but Shillong Lajong responded swiftly after halftime, with Daniel Goncalves netting the equalizer.
Mohamed Ali then restored Dempo’s lead, and as the clock ticked down, it seemed they were set to claim all three points. However, in a stunning twist, Goncalves struck again in the dying moments of injury time, scoring a dramatic 97th-minute equalizer.
