IFL 2025-26: Updated points table, most goals after Aizawl FC vs Namdhari

Former I-League champions Aizawl score twice to clinch all three points against Punjab-based Namdhari
The race for survival in the Indian Football League (IFL) began tonight at the Deccan Arena in Hyderabad, Telangana, where former I League champions Aizawl FC locked horns with Namdhari in the first matchday of the relegation round.
It was never easy for Aizawl FC to digest the fact that, despite spending almost every matchweek in the upper echelon of the IFL table, they slipped badly and fell back into the relegation zone. The game with Uzbek defender Talipov scoring an own goal in the 43rd minute to hand over the lead to Namdhari.
It was a must-win game for Namdhari, but the Mizoram outfit left no stone unturned to make a comeback. They did so in style as another own goal from Kamalpreet made it 1-1. The last quarter drama doesn’t fail to surprise us in the IFL as a goal from Zomuansanga made it 2-1 in favour of Aizawl.
Let’s take a closer look at how the IFL points table has changed after this game and find out how tonight’s results will impact the championship prospects of different teams.
A brief look at the IFL 2025-26 points table

The biggest irony for Aizawl is that they have more points than the bottom two placed teams of the Championship round and are still competing in the relegation zone. With this win, Aizawl FC have almost guaranteed their survival in the Indian Football League.
But things are pretty awful for Namdhari as the Punjab outfit are in real trouble of relegation. Luckily, they still have just one point difference with Gokulam and Real Kashmir, but they must win the next two games to keep their survival hopes alive.
Players with the most goals after matchday 4 of IFL 2025-26
- Marcus Joseph jr (Dempo) – 7 goals
- Antonio Moyano (Diamond Harbour) – 5 goals
- Amadou Soukouna (Rajasthan FC) – 4 goals
- Phrangki Buam (Shillong Lajong) – 4 goals
- Everbrightson Sana (Shillong Lajong) – 4 goals
What to expect from the next matches of IFL 2025-26
The final game of Matchweek 1 in the relegation round will feature the Malabarians locking horns with the Snow Leopards, in what is set to be a thrilling battle for survival. The Manjeri outfit have had a terrible season so far, and they must win the next game to stay alive.
Both teams are tied at eight points, and anything other than a win could prove fatal to the survival hopes of both teams. Namdhari will be hoping that the game ends in a draw so that both teams can still be leapfrogged in the next two matchdays of IFL.
