Fabrice Kah’s solitary goal enough to clinch first win of IFL 2025-26
The second matchday of the Indian Football League (IFL) 2025-26 took us to the City of Joy, where newly promoted Diamond Harbour locked horns against Sreenidi Deccan FC at the Kalyani Stadium in West Bengal.
Home team Diamond Harbour FC shocked the entire Indian footballing fraternity by making it to the finals of Asia’s oldest competition, the Durand Cup 2025.
They are also the reigning champions of the I League 2. This was Kibu Vicuna’s debut game as Diamond Harbour’s coach in the second division, and it ended on a losing cause. Sreenidi Deccan, led by Carlos Vaz Pinto saw his team clinching all three points away from home in their opening game of the season.
A brilliant free kick from Lalromawia was buried into the goal by Cameroonian striker Fabrice Kah after David Castaneda’s header was deflected in the 60th minute. After two back to back draws, Sreenidi Deccan became the first team to clinch a win in this season.

The new season of the Indian Football League commenced with two consecutive draws. After the end of matchday 1, four teams were tied at one point each atop the points table.
After the Telangana outfit managed to clinch their first win of the season, they have solidfied their position at the top of the table. In a constricted season, every win, every goal counts. Diamond Harbour did not have a dream start to their IFL campaign and must come back stronger in their next games.

What to expect in matchday 3 of IFL 2025-26:
Matchday 3 will feature two games, where Goan outfit Dempo SC will host Real Kashmir in the first fixture of the day. The second game of Matchday 3 will take us to the Scotland of the East in Shillong where Shillong Lajong are set to lock horns against Rajasthan FC.
We can expect a thrilling encounter between four really good sides. The top spot will be up for grabs as any team winning their game by over 2 goal difference.
