IFL 2025-26: Updated points table, most goals after Namdhari vs Gokulam Kerala

Namdhari are relegated to I League 2

The final matchday of the final matchweek of the IFL Relegation stage took us to the Deccan Arena in Hyderabad, where former I-League champions Gokulam Kerala locked horns with Namdhari.

If you ever feel like football is an emotionless game, watch a relegation fight. Destiny couldn’t have scripted it any better tonight as two-time champions Gokulam Kerala saved themselves from relegation after Trijoy Dias scored a 97th-minute winner to propel the Malabarians out of the relegation zone.

That’s how cruel football can be. Namdhari were just a few seconds away, they defended over 100 minutes putting every drop of their blood, sweat and tears, but a last-minute goal changed everything, and Namdhari succumbed to a 1-0 defeat against Gokulam Kerala to bid adieu to the Indian Football League.

Let’s take a closer look at how the IFL points table has changed after this game and find out how tonight’s results will impact the championship prospects of different teams.

A brief look at the IFL 2025-26 points table

The equations were simple. A draw was enough for Namdhari, whereas anything other than a win would have seen Gokulam getting relegated to I League 2. After Trijoy Dias’ winner, Gokulam grabbed all three points and moved to third spot in the relegation zone with 12 points, whereas Namdhari finished bottom with 10 points.

So that brings us to the end of the relegation battle in the Indian second division, with Gokulam saving themselves after a miraculous header from Trijoy. So the final standings of the IFL relegation zone end with Real Kashmir ending as table toppers, followed by Aizawl, Gokulam and Namdhari.

Players with the most goals after matchday 15 of IFL 2025-26

  • Marcus Joseph jr (Dempo SC) – 7 goals
  • Hugo Diaz (Diamond Harbour FC) – 7 goals
  • Zomuansanga (Aizawl FC) – 6 goals
  • Phrangki Buam (Shillong Lajong FC) – 6 goals
  • Everbrightson Sana (Shillong Lajong FC) – 5 goals

What to expect from the next matches of IFL 2025-26

The relegation drama is over, but two more matchweek actions are still left in the IFL Championship stage. Three out of six teams are mathematically still alive in the race. After two days break, Shillong will take on Rajasthan. It will be a must-win game for the Mizoram outfit to keep their title hopes alive.

So, hold your breath and keep a calculator beside you as things are becoming pretty interesting with every matchday. Every goal, every save, every single point counts and with such fine margins, you blink, and you are out of the title race.
