IFL 2025-26: Updated points table, most goals after Shillong Lajong vs Aizawl FC

Diamond Harbour finish atop IFL points table with an unbeaten eight-game streak

The second matchday of Matchweek 9 of the Indian Football League (IFL) saw a total of 14 goals in two games, where we had a seven-goal thriller in each game.

In the first game, Diamond Harbour hosted Gokulam Kerala. It was a must-win game for the Malabarians, and the Kerala outfit drew first blood. But the Kolkata outfit has made it a habit to bounce back, and Kibu Vicuna’s side went on to score five as table toppers Diamond Harbour defeated Gokulam 5-2

In the second game, it was now or never for Aizawl FC, who were playing against Shillong Lajong, who had already made it to the Championship round. But the home team didn’t shy away from fielding their main team, who thrashed Aizawl 6-1 to crush their championship hopes.

Let’s take a closer look at how the IFL points table has changed after this game and find out how tonight’s results will impact the championship prospects of different teams.

A brief look at the IFL 2025-26 points table

After tonight’s defeat for Aizawl and Gokulam, things are pretty clear now. The Malabarians and the former I-League champions Aizawl will battle it out in the relegation round. Chanmari have made it to the Championship round, thanks to those big wins from Diamond Harbour and Shillong.

Diamond Harbour finished their league stage campaign atop the IFL points table, and their sole defeat came only in their inaugural game. Shillong Lajong FC have leapfrogged Sreenidhi to make it to the second spot, but things can change as the Deccan outfit has another game in hand.

Players with the most goals after matchday 26 of IFL 2025-26

  • Marcus Joseph jr (Dempo) – 6 goals
  • Amadou Soukouna (Rajasthan FC) – 4 goals
  • Antonio Moyano (Diamond Harbour) – 4 goals
  • Phrangki Buam (Shillong Lajong) – 4 goals
  • Everbrightson Sana (Shillong Lajong) – 4 goals

What to expect from the next matches of IFL 2025-26

So after 26 matchweeks, we have all come to the final matchday of the IFL league stage. Though the championship and relegation teams are decided, it will be more of a battle for pride. Dempo and Rajasthan will feature in the first game. The Goan outfit pulled an unimaginable feat to make it to the Championship.

The final game of the day will see Sreenidhi playing against Real Kashmir. The Deccan outfit must win the next game to finish in the second spot, whereas Real Kashmir would eye a win in the final game to salvage some pride and avoid finishing at the bottom of the IFL table.
