IFL 2025-26: Updated points table, most goals after Shillong Lajong vs Rajasthan FC

Shillong keep their slim title hopes alive with win over Desert Vipers in final home game
The first matchday of the penultimate matchweek of the IFL Championship stage took us to the The SSA football stadium in Shillong, where the home team Shillong Lajong locked horns with Rajasthan FC.
It was now or never for the Meghalaya outfit, who were playing its final home game of the IFL campaign. Alan Thapa scored his maiden goal for Rajasthan to make it 1-0 for the away side, but goals from Kharbuli and Everbrighton saw the hosts overturn the deficit to make it 2-1.
The game was hanging like a pendulum after Gerard Artigas scored for the Desert Vipers, but Phrangki Buam converted from the spot, and Rudra Ved’s goal saw Shillong winning the game 4-2 to keep their title hopes alive in the IFL.
Let’s take a closer look at how the IFL points table has changed after this game and find out how tonight’s results will impact the championship prospects of different teams.
A brief look at the IFL 2025-26 points table

With this win, Shillong Lajong have made the title race interesting. They have moved up to 25 points and are just a win behind the table toppers, but they play Diamond Harbour next, and they still have a chance to miraculously get promoted to the ISL.
But it will all depend upon Diamond Harbour’s next game against Dempo. If they fail to clinch any point from that game, Shillong will have the fortunes in their own hand to defeat the Harbour Boys and become the champions of IFL 2026
Players with the most goals after matchday 16 of IFL 2025-26
- Marcus Joseph jr (Dempo SC) – 7 goals
- Hugo Diaz (Diamond Harbour FC) – 7 goals
- Phrangki Buam (Shillong Lajong FC) – 7 goals
- Everbrightson Sana (Shillong Lajong FC) – 6 goals
- Zomuansanga (Aizawl FC) – 6 goals
What to expect from the next matches of IFL 2025-26
The Deccan Arena in Hyderabad will host their last home game of the IFL season, and it will be Chanmari who will be their next opponent. Technically, Sreenidhi Deccan are still alive in the title race, and they need a win in the next game to redeem their slimmest chance.
So, hold your breath and keep a calculator beside you as things are becoming pretty interesting with every matchday. Every goal, every save, every single point counts and with such fine margins, you blink, and you are out of the title race.
