Two Mizoram clubs remain top of IFL points table
Matchday five of IFL hosted two thrilling clashes tonight. The first game of Matchday five took us to Manjeri, where Gokulam Kerala FC locked horns against Namdhari FC, whereas the last game of Matchday five saw Chanmari FC host Sreenidi Deccan.
Thabiso Brown broke the deadlock and put the Malabarians in front in just 32 minutes. The Kerala outfit were heading for a win, but a late strike from Lotjem in the 74th minute saw the home team still searching for their first win of the new season.
The newcomers held Sreenidi to a goalless draw in the first half and scored in the 59th minute to put the Mizoram outfit ahead.
Paulo equalized the scoreline in the 79th minute, and when it seemed that the game is heading for a draw, Ruatsanga went on to score a late goal in stoppage time to clinch the first-ever win for Chamari in the Indian Football League.

As things stand, the two Aizawl sides find themselves at the top of the IFL table, and it seems NorthEast United FC might soon have another team from the Seven Sisters in ISL if the trend continues. Sreendi’s defeat tonight saw them slip to the third spot with 3 points.
Namdhari and Gokulam end Matchweek 2 with two draws in their first two games. On the other hand, Diamond Harbour FC remains the only team to still not open their points tally in the IFL, but that can change tomorrow if the only side from Kolkata plays well.

What to expect in matchday 6 of IFL 2025-26:
Matchday six will also feature two games. It will be the final matchday of Matchweek two and a brilliant chance for many teams to clinch a win and climb higher in the IFL points table.
Diamond Harbour will host Dempo and the Kolkata outfit would be keen to open their points tally with a win over the Goan outfit.
The final fixture of Matchweek 2 will feature Shillong Lajong and Real Kashmir. Both teams began their campaign with a draw and would eyeing their first win of the new season.
