IFL 2025-26: Updated points table, most goals after Namdhari vs Chanmari FC

Chanmari keep their IFL Championship hopes alive

The first matchday of Matchweek 9 of the Indian Football League (IFL) took us to Punjab, where the home team Namdhari locked horns with Chanmari FC in their final league stage game.

Pepe opened the goal-scoring tally for Namdhari in just four minutes, and goals from Christo and Ruatsanga made it 3-0. The home team did try to make a comeback, but it was too late. Adersh scored in the hour mark, but it was nothing less than a consolation goal as Chanmari scored another in the 81st minute.

The game ended 4-1 in favour of Chanmari, who have kept their Championship hopes alive with a win over Namdhari. Namdhari will have no options than to battle it out in the relegation battle alongside Real Kashmir and two other teams.

Let’s take a closer look at how the IFL points table has changed after this game and find out how tonight’s results will impact the championship prospects of different teams.

A brief look at the IFL 2025-26 points table

This win was necessary for Chanmari to keep their Championship hopes alive, but it all depends on the results of the next matches to know if that was enough for Victor Lalbiakmawia’s side. Chanmari go fifth in IFL table with 11 points.

For Namdhari, they can now even finish at the bottom of the IFL table if Real Kashmir manages to win their last game. After tonight’s defeat, they finish their regular season with seven points in nine games.

Players with the most goals after matchday 25 of IFL 2025-26

  • Marcus Joseph jr (Dempo) – 6 goals
  • Amadou Soukouna (Rajasthan FC) – 4 goals
  • Antonio Moyano (Diamond Harbour) – 4 goals
  • Fabrice Kah (Sreenidi) – 3 goals
  • Everbrightson Sana (Shillong Lajong) – 3 goals

What to expect from the next matches of IFL 2025-26

Table toppers Diamond Harbour will lock horns with Gokulam. This is a crucial game for the Malabarians, as they must win it big to save themselves from the relegation battle. It’s a mammoth task to win so big against the Kolkata outfit, but hope is what keeps the Malabarians going.

The second fixture would take us to Shillong, where Shillong Lajong are set to face Aizawl in the final fixture of the game. The home team have made it to the Championship round, but for Aizawl, it’s a must win game and anything other than all three points would see them battling it out in relegation battle.
