IFL 2025-26: Updated points table, most goals after Rajasthan FC vs Sreenidhi Deccan

Kolkata outfit goes seven points clear atop IFL table

The first two matchdays of the Group Stages in the Indian Football League (IFL) could not have asked for a better start than this, as the Desert Vipers locked horns with Sreenidhi Deccan and on the second day, Chanmari FC played against Diamond Harbour FC.

Both sides approached the game cautiously, and it took more than fifty minutes to break the deadlock. Ghanaian midfielder Issac Nortey drew the first blood in the 54th minute, but Rajasthan United were a man down after the hour mark, after Shafeel was sent off.

Sreenidhi tried equalising against a ten-man Rajasthan, and the constant pressure yielded a result as Sreenidhi scored twice in the stoppage time. Hadi equalised in the 92nd minute, and a late 95th-minute winner from a Colombian striker, David Castaneda, saw Sreenidhi win the game 2-1.

In the second matchday, Moyano broke the deadlock in the 35th minute. Home team Chanmari did try to find the equaliser, but it was too late as Tharpuia sealed the fate of the game in the 87th minute, and Diamond Harbour won the game 2-0 against Chanmari.

Let’s take a closer look at how the IFL points table has changed after this game and find out how tonight’s results will impact the championship prospects of different teams.

A brief look at the IFL 2025-26 points table

IFL Updated Points Table

A win for Rajasthan United could have taken them way closer to the table toppers, Diamond Harbour, but this defeat will prove costly for the Desert Vipers, who are now five points behind in the title race. For Sreenidhi, this win was more than important to keep their title hopes alive.

The win takes Sreendhi to 18 points, and they now find themselves in the second spot, and suddenly, they are back and alive in the race for promotion.

But Diamond Harbour’s win over Chanmari takes them seven points clear atop the IFL table. This win has taken them one more step closer to the championship, and their ISL ambitions seem very much possible now. They have their fate in their own hands, and until a major collapse happens, we can expect another Kolkata side in ISL.

Players with the most goals after matchday 1 of IFL 2025-26

  • Marcus Joseph jr (Dempo) – 7 goals
  • Antonio Moyano (Diamond Harbour) – 5 goals
  • Amadou Soukouna (Rajasthan FC) – 4 goals
  • Phrangki Buam (Shillong Lajong) – 4 goals
  • Everbrightson Sana (Shillong Lajong) – 4 goals

What to expect from the next matches of IFL 2025-26

Shillong Lajong are set to host Dempo in the final matchday of Matchweek 1 fixtures of the Championship stage. The Meghalaya outfit will be keen to make the most of their home advantage against Dempo, who barely made it to the Championship race.

A win for Shillong will see them leapfrog Sreenidhi to occupy the second spot. They will still be five points behind table toppers Diamond Harbour but they actually have a realistic chance if they manage to win their next five games.
