Dempo goes to the top of the table with a win in Rourkela.
The second Matchweek fixtures of the Indian Football League 2026-27 season took place in Rourkela, where home team Samaleswari locked horns with Dempo SC.
Odisha hosted second-tier football after a long time, and football enthusiasts in the city of Rourkela came in large numbers to support their team.
The away side broke the deadlock in the 28th minute, courtesy of a goal from Richmond. Rane made it 2-0 for Dempo near the hour mark. Kartik scored a consolation goal for Samaleswari in the 82nd minute, but it was too late as Samaleswari fell to a 2-1 defeat to Dempo.

The win takes Dempo to the top of the table with six points in two games. After a frustrating start last season, the Goan outfit have done well to start the season on a positive note.
Samaleswari conceded their second defeat of the season as they fell short of a goal to Dempo. After two matchweeks, Samaleswari are yet to clinch a point after back-to-back defeats.
