Igor Stimac posted his thoughts about India’s goalless draw against Afghanistan in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
The Indian football team played their third FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Afghanistan on 22 March in Saudi Arabia. It was a goalless draw in an electrifying match of missed chances. The result was a disappointment for Igor Stimac and his men as Indian fans expected three points against a low-ranked country.
Although India’s performance in the defense was clinical, the midfield and particularly the forward line lacked precision.
There was very little coordination among the players and communication was a big problem in the entire game. With plenty of missed passes as well as poor ball movements India’s performance was not of the mark. Many questions were raised about India’s head coach Igor Stimac’s tactics.
Igor Stimac posted a picture of Team India along with a short message across his social media platform. With this tweet on social media Indian football fans have reacted on X (formerly Twitter) and came up with several reactions. Let’s look at how football fans reacted on Twitter.
The Blue Tigers have arrived in Guwahati for their next encounter in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Afghanistan in the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium. All eyes will be on Igor Stimac and his men as they look to turn their fortunes and grab three points out of this fixture to keep their dreams of World Cup qualification alive.
This fixture also stands as an opportunity for Igor to answer his critics and field a better team than the last games. India’s boss would surely look to learn from his previous mistakes and take the home advantage in the upcoming clash.
