Indian Football & ISL Transfer News
Iker Guarrotxena, Jan Toral & Juan Rodriguez become latest foreigners to depart ISL

ISL clubs continue to lose foreign players despite recent positive developments.
Indian Super League (ISL) clubs FC Goa, Kerala Blasters FC and Mumbai City FC have announced the departures of three foreign players from their teams on Wednesday (14 January 2026). Iker Guarrotxena, Jan Toral and Juan Rodriguez have parted ways with their respective clubs as they look to continue their playing careers abroad or return to their home countries.
The three departures add to the list of foreign talent leaving ISL clubs, having already seen players like Edgar Mendez, David Timor and Borja Herrera leave a few weeks back. The loss of foreign talent are concerning sign for ISL fans and seems to be a knock-on effect from the earlier uncertainty surrounding the league start.
Iker Guarrotxena leaves FC Goa

The Spaniard, who joined the Gaurs during the 2024-25 ISL campaign from Mumbai City FC on a free transfer, leaves the club having won two Super Cup trophies. Guarrotxena scored 24 goals in 56 games for FC Goa and was a driving force for his side in attack alongside Borja Herrera on different occasions.
The Spaniard also penned a heartfelt post on Instagram to thank the club and its staff, along with the fans who supported him during his time with the club. Guarrotxena’s departure does leave a gaping hole in attack for FC Goa, who will have to find attacking solutions before the start of the ISL season in February.

Jan Toral and Juan Rodriguez also depart the ISL

Jon Toral and Mumbai City FC also announced that they have mutually parted ways, according to a club statement posted on its Instagram handle. The former Spain U-17 international, who joined the club on a free transfer during the 2024-25 ISL campaign, played 21 games for the club while recording two goal contributions.
Kerala Blasters FC also announced the mutual parting of ways with Spanish centre back Juan Rodriguez following his short stint, as he is returning to his home country and joining Marbella FC. A player who only made three appearances for his side during the Super Cup, Rodriguez leaves the club after recording only one goal contribution under his belt.
