Indian Women’s Football Team are set to lock horns against Uzbekistan in two friendly fixtures scheduled to take place on 30th May and 3rd June at the Padukone-Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence in Bengaluru. These friendly encounters will serve as their last matches ahead of their AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers.
After a disappointing 2024, India (ranked 69th) played the likes of Jordan (74th), Russia (27th), and the Republic of Korea (19th) in the Pink Ladies Cup in February.
Indian Women’s Football Team kicked off the calendar year with an 11-1 win over the Maldives in a friendly encounter. They went on to register another 2-0 victory over Jordan in a friendly fixture that took place in Al Hamriyah.
After those two initial victories over the Maldives and Jordan, the Blue Tigresses have lost every single game so far after going 2-0 down against Russia and 3-0 down against South Korea.
The Uzbek women had a disastrous year so far, losing to teams like Zambia, China and South Korea and winning just a solitary friendly tie against Jordan. In 2025, Uzbekistan have played five, won one, drawn one, and lost three, with the last two defeats coming against China (0-5) and Zambia (3-4).

After playing two friendly encounters against Uzbekistan, the Indian Women’s Football Team are set play in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Qualification fixtures.
The Blue Tigresses have been drawn in Group B of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026 Qualifiers, where they will face Mongolia (June 23), Timor-Leste (June 29), Iraq (July 2), and hosts Thailand (July 5).
All the matches will take place at the 700th Anniversary of Chiang Mai Stadium in Thailand, away from the comfort of playing at home.
The friendly encounters against Uzbekistan present a golden opportunity for the Women in Blue to gear up strongly and tick all boxes before heading to Thailand ahead of their important matches in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Qualification matches.
